denim maniac

john and i went to the mall the other day. i haven't done that in years. i was so very disappointed with the denim selection, even in the high-end department stores like nordstrom and neiman marcus. i couldn't find one high waist pair, and it looked like they were all still having a contest with each other to see who could put more jewels and crap on their pockets. what is the deal with that?? are people still really buying these tight acid zorched super low waist jeans with embroidered glittery carnivals on the pockets? did the clean plain high waist jean already come and go in the malls or did they still not arrive yet? i guess it's probably just due to the unfashionable san diego area.

the judi rosen's stove pipe bells sure are looking great in the new nylon.
i always mean to do more of this market research, but it costs me way too much in the shoe department. i ran into a pair of black gucci ankle boots with gold round studs on the heel... and fortunately for my bank account i was shopping with john and not hannah. but i still might have to go back and pick up those betsy johnson spiked heel fringe ankle boots which were much more affordable...

I'm too poor to feel comfortable (window) shopping in places like Neiman Marcus, last time I went there was an 80-pound 50-something lady prancing around in the Philip Lim section wearing nothing but a very short t-shirt. Her pants were nowhere to be found.

But bejeweled jeans? Blechhh!
